REFLECTION
When I first painted Beyond the Horizon, I knew something was missing.
The landscape stretched endlessly, the mountains stood distant, and the frozen expanse held a quiet mystery—but it lacked a passage, a way forward.
The painting called for something to bridge the vastness, to give meaning to the journey it hinted at.
The bridge became that final element.
Now, with it in place, the piece feels complete. It’s more than just a transition between two points; it’s an invitation—to cross, to explore, to step beyond what is known.
The suspension bridge, delicate yet sturdy, sways over icy waters, challenging the viewer to take that step.
On one side, a fortress stands firm, a place of safety. Beyond the bridge, the horizon opens, vast and uncertain, yet full of possibility.
There’s a solitude in this landscape, but not an emptiness.
The snow-covered trees, the distant mountains, and the muted sky hold stories within them.
The cold isn’t just a barrier—it’s a cleansing force, a space for reflection before the next step.
I see this painting as a moment of decision, that breath before one dares to move forward.
Now, as I step back, I feel that balance—between stillness and movement, the past and the future.
The journey continues, and beyond the horizon, something waits.
